Othala ('Oh-thall-ah') (or Othila) is the last Rune in the runic journey and it's the crowning achievement which lies at the very end. Othala is responsible for everything related to property household, inheritance, both physical and spiritual and the connection to our family and ancestors.

As the runic journey starts with Fehu - the cattle, a visible sign of wealth, it ends with a much deeper, unseen but most important and permanent asset, the land. Both Othala and Fehu continue the cyclical nature of runes. Riches hold no importance of one who doesn't have a home, such as fame doesn't have importance if one doesn't know his ancestors.

Othala symbolizes the strength we gain from generation to generation, as knowledge, spiritual strength and property are passed down to us by our ancestors. The strength found in a family that is united. Othala is everything you have earned in your life as well as your spiritual home.
