17 The Little Mermaid

I loved him so deeply, he was so beautiful. I saved him from drowning. But he was a human prince, and I was a mermaid living beneath the waves. Such an impossible love. So I went to the Sea Witch and made a dangerous bargain with her. I gained human legs, though they were painful. Alas, the prince chose another woman. My heart was shattered, for I had sacrificed and endured so much for this man. In despair, I chose death and finally reached the heavens.

Something here is not very healthy and not very fair. It seems that you are the one making all the effort. You are swimming in troubled waters. Beware of dishonest deals. You have great hopes and pure love. But love that forces you to hurt yourself and sacrifice who you are is not true love. The same applies to any kind of relationship or circumstance.
