11. AUTUMN

Harvest, change, endings

Change is inevitable ... and endings lead to beginnings.

Autumn is a time of dualities. On the one hand, it is full of abundance: the crops have been growing and ripening all summer and are now ready to harvest. It is time to sit back and reap the rewards. On the other hand, it is a time of decay; there is a decline of sunlight, leaves fall from the trees leaving bare branches and crops that are not harvested are spoilt. It is a time of death, endings and darkening. Autumn shifts the earth into a slower pace, closing down signs of life and growth for a little while. It is time to go inwards, let go of the old and say goodbye. Therefore Autumn’s song is both celebration and grieving. It is an essential and inevitable change.

When Autumn appears it signifies immense change in your life. You may experience abundance and reward in one area of your life, yet something is also ending. This sense of duality can feel daunting, but Autumn reminds you that change is inevitable, and by accepting it and moving through it, you are elevating yourself. Letting things go that no longer serve you will make space for new things. You should surrender yourself to the natural changes of life, knowing that it is necessary for your growth. Now is also a time for you to go inwards. Tie up loose ends on unfinished projects and conversations and seek to gain clarity on things. Life is taking a new course and you will benefit from starting with a fresh page.
