Follow Your Dreams

We all have dreams. Little wistful longings and big passionate desires. Whether your dreams are about successful careers or enduring love or just having chocolate cake for dessert, simply thinking about them is unlikely to make them happen. It is okay to daydream about things that don't really matter—marrying a prince or becoming a rock star—but if your dreams are important to you, you are going to have to actively pursue them in order to make them come true. Of course, it can be scary to go after your dreams, since you might fail, or they might not live up to your expectations. But if you don't try, you'll never know, will you?

Figure out which one of your dreams is the one you want the most, then take one concrete step toward following that dream.

This card is a not-so-subtle hint that it is time to stop dreaming and start acting! Or perhaps, if you have taken action already, it is a sign that you are on the right path. You know better than anyone...which do you think it is?

Sometimes we need an extra little push to get up the courage to follow our dreams. Magical work can give us that. If you have access to a bonfire, light a fire and write your dream down on a piece of paper. Throw the paper into the fire and visualize the sparks flying out into the universe and carrying your dreams with them. Alternatively, if you can’t do that, take a votive candle and scratch a word or two describing your dreams into the wax. As it burns down, that will send the energy out in the same way. Open your heart to the possibility of success, knowing that the gods have heard your message.
