Dawn is defined as the end of night, when the first light appears in the sky just before sunrise. The mountainous scene in this card was inspired by my 2015 trip to Bali. As part of the trip we did a sunrise hike up Mount Batur, one of the active volcanoes on the island. We started hiking around 2 in the morning, when it was still dark, and made it up to the top right before the sun started rising. As I stood at the summit, enjoying my hot breakfast and watching the colors appear in the sky, I felt a sense of peace and completion having overcome a grueling journey. For the creatures of the night, another challenging night has passed, and it is time for rest until the next sundown.
