2 Sea Serpent (Spirit)

Healing emotional wounds, expression of desires

The Sea Serpent represents the energy of expression. Regardless of what it is: emotions, creativity, sensuality or desire - the Sea Serpent helps us direct this energy into a healthy flow. When the essence of this card is balanced, we express ourselves creatively and sexually without fear and shame. We know what we desire most. Our heart is free, our relationships are meaningful and strong. We loosen the grip of self-judgment and let in the cool water of forgiveness to heal our wounds. While the Sea Serpent's energy is not yet activated, our emotions and creativity are left in murky water. The flow of expression stagnates in places, and floods everything in some parts of life. We must remember that no matter what the waters of our emotional life look like, the Sea Serpent loves us all equally. Like a mother, she wraps around us in a gesture of protection.

The subtle energetics of the Sea Serpent occupies the area of Svadhisthana. Located in the pelvic region, this chakra is known as governing our creativity and desires and is associated with the element of Water. Svadhisthana translates as 'in her own location,' indicating that this is the home of the divine mother, Kundalini herself.
