5 Black Egg (Spirit)

Speech of the true voice, truth

The Black Egg contains within itself one of the main treasures of life - truth. Inside it there are no confusions, justifications, chatter, noise, or lies (not even white ones). This living and breathing vessel accumulates only that which rings with truth. When this essence is in harmony, we speak slowly and calmly. We are drawn to such activities as writing, reading, teaching, singing, or perhaps public speaking. We are attracted to sound, we are attracted to books, truth itself attracts us. We begin to ask ourselves questions such as: 'What truth about myself do I know?', 'What truth exists about the world?'.

When the energy of the Black Egg is still inaccessible, we speak uncertainly. We say things that others want to hear, gossip or repeat stories, as we ourselves behave in less than ideal ways. We even try to convince ourselves that there is no truth in us at all. The energy of the Black Egg is free and awaits connection with us. It is always available, in any situation. This is the epicenter of truth, the birthplace of our voice.

The subtle essence of this card is located at the base of the throat, in Vishuddha. Ancient sages saw it as the center that governs speech and expression. Vishuddha translates as 'especially pure'. Balance of this center is important for all of us, but especially necessary for writers, editors, musicians and teachers.
