Ace of Cups
The Ace of Cups represents the flow of emotion and a descent into the depths of the soul, indicating harmony between who we are, what we believe, and what we do. It points to discovering the source of love within ourselves and the completion, illumination, and freedom that arise from inner unity. As a water card it emphasizes feeling, union, and limitless bliss, inviting openness and emotional abundance. The Exploring section connects these themes to Slytherin symbolism, suggesting ambition as a form of deep-seated emotional hunger and a potential shadow-side of this element.

Exploring the Card
For the Aces, the cards revert back to the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Silver and green as their colors, and the placement of their common room under the lake associates Slytherins very closely with the element of water. Salazar’s arrogance does not correspond too well with the association of this suit with love, but the way Slytherins appear so driven to succeed points to a deep-seated emotional hunger and to the shadow-side of this element.
Visual Description
A detailed graphite portrait of a young man in profile wearing a brimmed hat and patterned tunic, a round pendant hanging at his throat. In the foreground a large coiled snake fills the lower half of the image, its head and textured scales rendered close and almost tactile. Decorative swirling motifs frame the scene and a title at the bottom reads "Ace of Cups." A small symbol appears at the top margin above the portrait.
