Strength
Strength depicts the Fool's awakening will as he refuses to be carried by fate and begins to confront societal expectations and his own festering inner wounds. It emphasizes the difficult courage required to face one's shadow and admit that formerly clung-to beliefs no longer serve. The card advises engaging in deep shadow work—healing wounds and reclaiming denied parts of the self—to develop unshakable inner confidence. When reversed, it prompts interrogation of projections: noticing traits in others that mirror your own unexamined fears or flaws. Overall, the card counsels bravery, honest self-examination, and the reclaiming of personal power through healing.

Description
This is where the Fool's will galvanizes. He is done with being controlled by the whims of fate or beguiled by the promise of destiny. However, it is not easy to turn his back on the expectations of his society. That is not all: he also has to face his own inner demons, which are really unattended mental, emotional, and spiritual wounds that have festered. He gathers as much courage as he can muster and stares into the abyss, which, as they say, stares back at him. This is probably the hardest lesson the Fool has faced to date: admitting that what he clung on so dearly to has not served him well. The gift, though, is worth it: an unshakable and confident inner strength.
Divinatory meaning
There are some difficult battles to face right now.
Advice
Do your shadow work. Look for the parts of yourself that you have denied or deemed unworthy. Find the wounds that caused you to think that, heal the wound, and reclaim a part of yourself that you (and the world) desperately need.
Reversed
If reversed, ask yourself: Is there something about someone else that is bothering me? How is that trait manifested in myself? What are the scariest dragons lurking in my shadow?
Visual Description
A young armored woman with long silvery hair stands in profile, her gaze steady and calm, beside a large golden lion whose mane frames its face. Red and black banners on poles wave behind them against a backdrop of radiating light, while small petals or confetti drift through the air. At the top a sunburst medallion bears the Roman numeral VIII and a ribbon at the bottom is inscribed "Strength." The scene is enclosed by an ornate border featuring stars and crescent motifs.
