Religious Symbolism

Before the altar of oppression, the priest asks that his simple wooden vessel, the illusion of need, be filled by his flock, despite the rich, ornate vessels above him. It is this discontentment that makes churches charge tithes to parishioners when their coffers are full. It is that force of manipulation that tells the flocks of the tyrant god they must give a tenth of their income to the church to live a blessed and happy life. The church gets richer despite the poverty of the congregation. It is for this reason alone that the church condemns the pursuit and preservation of one's money, labeling it 'the sin of greed', proclaiming money as 'the root of all evil.' Why, then, does the church need so much of it? Why are their priests and evangelical preachers fat with wealth while their faithful live in destitution? It is the promise of the Serpent, the promise of the Witch Gods, that witches never need give to any institution unless they do so for their own benefit, not the benefit of the institution itself. The Witch Gods do not need tithes in exchange for contentment and blessings; all They ask is that you live true to your own Free Will.

Divinatory Meaning

When the Four of Vessels is invoked, it signals that you are not content with your current material success despite being fortunate. Your life feels stagnant and you cannot see your accomplishments due to covetousness. There is no harm in striving to better yourself, but to do so in spite of your many blessings is what holds you back. Take the time to appreciate what you have achieved. You tend to dwell on what you don’t have rather than appreciate what you do. When you reflect on your blessings and enjoy them, you will be better equipped to excel further into success.

Banished Interpretation

When the Four of Vessels is banished, it brings a more positive insight into the situation, signaling a time of growth and appreciation for what you have. Through this, a renewal of energy that motivates you to surpass your goals can be achieved. When offered, accept the help of others; there is a possibility of relationships or partnerships that will fuel your motivation.
