Ten of Swords
The Ten of Swords represents the painful end of a cycle, symbolized by the death's-head hawkmoth that connects to the underworld and inevitable fate. This card indicates situations where you are not the victor and must accept defeat, often involving overwhelming information or mental burden. It suggests the need to let go of circumstances beyond your control, as victory is not possible in the current situation. The card emphasizes heavy contemplation and the challenging conclusion of a logical or mental process.

Symbolism
The card features the death's-head hawkmoth 'Acherontia atropos,' which traces back to Greek mythology. Acheron in mythology is one of the five rivers in the underworld of the dead, and the word 'Acheron' was also used to denote the depths and horrors of the underworld. Atropos or Atropa (Greek Ἄτροπος, 'inevitable') represents inexorable, unavoidable fate (death) – the name of one of the three Moirai, the goddess of destiny who cuts the thread of human life. The head is severed from the body, and the person doesn't understand where the information is coming from. This creates a kind of informational noise. The information towers, like a city, symbolize the suit itself. Here, like a headless horseman or a head without a body, the situation is not yours – let it go, there will be no victory. This also shows some kind of heavy contemplation – since swords are the suit of logic. This is literally seen in the skull pattern on the butterfly, where the idea of the Ajna chakra, specifically of knowledge, is integrated.
Card's Message
A stage is ending, and it's ending hard. This is where the person is not the winner, but quite the opposite. In relationships – the end of relationships due to information. In money matters – loss of money.
Visual Description
A large dark-winged moth fills the center of the card, its thorax marked by a small human skull and its lower wings rendered in bright yellow with skull-like shapes. Dense clusters of yellow flowers and green foliage frame the top and bottom edges, and a faint repeating skull pattern is visible in the pale background. Beneath the moth, a city-like formation of vertical metallic spires and blades rises, with a single upright sword standing among them.
