Symbolism
The Priestess here is more standard, but in the symbols we still trace purple flowers – they represent secret knowledge and magic. The key – if you look closely, shows the letter T, suggesting a connection to Tarot. But the key also speaks of Pythagorean sacred geometry, also called the vesica piscis, which literally means the beginning of creation. 23 shards around her head, which may refer to the 22 Major Arcana plus a blank card connecting the Major and Minor Arcana. She speaks here of the need to structure one's knowledge. The scythe – cutting away any negative influences and energies. Also in world tradition it symbolizes harvest, new hopes, protection and prosperity. Such a dual symbol. The scythe here resembles a lunar crescent, that very connection of the priestess with lunar symbols. Candles – sparks of ignition. The bird sitting atop the throne – quetzal or owl (as a symbol of wisdom, magic, ancient knowledge, lunar principle). In Mayan and Aztec history it was considered the patron of air, symbol of good, light, spring and plants, so it was often depicted next to gods or high ranks. Background – Mayan calendar – an invention shrouded in mysteries, a portal that unites past, present and future.

Visual Description
A hooded skeletal figure sits on a throne draped in patterned green and purple robes, a skull for a face and a halo of stylized skulls and blade-like radiations behind the head. The figure holds a large ornate key in one hand and an open book rests on the other knee; candles burn around the base and flowers lie scattered at the feet. The background is a circular carved stone disc with intricate designs, and the overall palette is muted purples, greens and candlelit golds.
