Symbolism

Our magician invites us to play a game, to have fun, to play shell game (guess under which shell the ball is) – to choose one of the possibilities. Traditionally, the Magician represents choosing your clear path, but here you're choosing from several options. But which one is correct? Here the magician is more like a trickster, a manipulator. The hand with the eye is the Hamsa Amulet, which also symbolizes choosing a path, protecting property, and helping with career growth. Among Native Americans, Hamsa is traditionally worn not as a charm, but as a tattoo with an open eye. Native Americans believed that such symbolism opens the gift of clairvoyance and intuition. The word WILL on the table – either as a verb meaning 'will' or as a noun meaning 'willpower.' Blue flowers – in occult practices, the line of fate and faith in a good outcome of events is associated with the blue color, which is also connected with foresight, the ability to peer into future events, and the ability to penetrate the mysteries of past life. The familiar four elements, four suits we see here, as on any magician. Candles – fire, spark, potential. Pitcher – water, feelings, emotions. Knives – air, information from above. Coins and clay objects – the element of earth. The allusion of feminine and masculine – he is the master of the magical world, holding in his hands a wand and scepter (crystal ball). White and black knife as creation and destruction. Literally light and darkness.

Card's Message

Our magician is not a simple person, he has an ace up his sleeve, complex, multilayered, hiding something, everything is much deeper and more serious than it appears, or he is a professional of high level, and does something for this, gives practical implementation. He is a manipulator, within himself, a player, a loner. There may be a bunch of admirers around him, but ego prevails. You need to be very careful with him. In this deck, always be attentive, look to the root, otherwise the magician may deceive you. This magician can freely speak of a trickster and a swindler.

Advice

The advice of the card lies in careful selection of direction for realizing potential. The main thing is to act and not waste time.

Visual Description

A skeletal figure with an ornate skull sits behind a table draped in a red cloth, wearing a purple robe and a wide brimmed hat that supports a boat full of burning candles. On the table there are small cups, a crystal ball, bowls, bottles and herbs, and the figure holds a wooden mallet or wand across its chest. Behind the figure a patterned green tapestry fills the niche and the wooden front of the table shows a carved palmistry hand and an eye; the card title 'THE MAGICIAN' appears at the bottom.
