She gathers herself, reaching within to a center of peace, a place where balance resides. From this center, she feels the dragon and the phoenix mixing. They intertwine around each other, embracing in a convoluted twist of scales and feathers until it begins to seem that one dissolves into the other. They twist around each other in an eternal struggle for dominance, dancing an elegant waltz of giving and receiving, pushing and pulling. They whirl around her in a vortex that assaults her consciousness. Like a maestro, she observes and tames first one, then the other, maintaining harmony whenever she senses imbalance.
Earth and sky, fire and water, man and woman, the summer warmth and lush growth against the cold winter winds reach towards each other: these opposites fall into each other in a cyclical and infinite clash of yin and yang.
