Description of Image
In an old story, there was a Choice: knowledge and the fullness of worldly sensations or the simplicity of eternal now. Being embraced, seeking such a union fervently desired by all Souls to experience the unity of passion and love. Their eyes are open, but they see only each other, forgetting the Sun passing overhead and the watchful gaze of the Heavens. Neither the gold and jeweled crown of kings nor the vine and flower wreath of commoners adorns their brows, for the forces around them make no such distinction; their own feelings do not know it either. 'Take this seed,' he says, placing an acorn in her palm. 'Water it with the source of your Spirit and your intention.' 'And we'll see what grows from it,' she replies.
Meaning
Union, balance, energy, flow, love, desire, passion, merging of heart and mind, forming a union or marriage. While it can be romantic in nature, it does not have to be. The Lovers also speak of defining values and struggling with choices – innocence, embodied by doves, in contrast with the gleaming red apple in the embrace of a snake, one of the oldest symbols of temptation. Moreover, the pure simplicity of the calla lily contrasts with the lush and sensual complexity of the rose.
