Imagery and Interpretation
A collection of figures is resurrected from a forgotten burial ground. Their focus shifts to the spiritual entity who stands before them. The entity commands attention with a presentation of a passage to beyond. The resurrected are participating in a divine miracle that echoes from the dawn of man. The crowd is inundated with amazement. Their physical bodies and belongings will be left behind, where only a shade remains. The darkened garb of the resurrected, which symbolizes death's touch, will soon be illuminated on their passage above. Previously seen in the card of The Lovers, the motif of a ladder extended to the Heavens returns. The spiritual entity's gilded halo reflects the imagery of Greek Orthodox iconography, which introduced me to the concept of spirituality during my childhood.
