Description
Braving the thrashing storm, The Hermit meditates on the horizon while frigid waves crash around him. The Hermit stands undaunted and finds awe in the gyré of the endless sea. He wields a walking staff and lantern to guide him on his journey. The Hermit's grey wool cloak provides protection from the elements and conceals his esoteric wisdom.
Symbolism
During the previous appearance of The Magician, a flaming wand was proudly furnished yet vulnerable to extinguishing forces. Now, following decades of study and dedication, this flame is protected by the heavy lantern held in the Hermit's hand. The lantern was created through forged steel and a custom designed lamp wick mechanism during my Bachelor's degree studies.
