5. Believing Is Seeing

IMAGINATION; BEYOND THE VEIL; INNER CHILD; PLAY

I am ready to activate my inner magic. I am open to the power of my imagination.

A misty cave houses a rider who sits quietly on a great mythical creature. Although we cannot fully see the details of this being with our eyes, our mind can make out the shape and form of a beautiful unicorn. Magic is afoot!

When we're children, our idea of limitation is still fresh and new, as we often live in the present moment and hold a deep sense of "anything is possible." Children are active dreamers and day-dreamers, though as they grow older their use of imagination in the real world slowly begins to fade. Unfortunately, becoming less imaginative is common as we rise into adulthood, but this does not mean that we stop using this part of our mind altogether. The magic of neuroplasticity—our ability to reorganize and form synaptic connections in our brains—brilliantly allows us to grow our mind at any age. What often impedes this gift is what we discern as limitations in our life—within and around us.

Like a garden, our imagination and creativity must be cultivated with care to maintain our sense of childlike wonder. If we continue to water the roots of our dreams and tend to the inner sparks that rise within us as we grow and age, we may become more receptive to complex problem-solving, creative visualization, and deeper empathy for others. Even into the seasoned stages of adulthood, we can learn from this part of ourselves and become more fluent in "anything is possible." Often, it takes looking beyond the veil of reality to discover powerful truths—and the more we work the muscle of our imagination, the more open and intuitive we become. From here, our dreams may also be more vivid and clearly defined, bearing new gifts and deeper revelations each day.

This card comes as a loving invitation to access your innocence and celebrate your playfulness! It asks you to return to your sense of childlike wonder and open those tender pathways once again. It is time to explore the beauty of infinite possibilities. As you detach from external pressures or expectations, you may discover a newfound truth that guides you to fresh experiences. Perhaps there is a dream from your youth that still calls out to you? No matter how small your movements may be, now is the time to let loose, play, dance, and move toward pure, unadulterated joy! There is no need to always be in "adult mode." Our imagination is one of the most important vehicles we have. How can you nurture the spirit of your whimsical inner child?
