2. RIVER

Journey, flow, surrender

Trust your journey and go with the flow.

River runs towards the ocean, providing life for fish that swim within her and the animals and plants who drink at her banks. River may vary in size and depth. She may be wide or narrow and move quickly or slowly, but one thing always remains the same: she goes with the flow, only moving in one direction until she meets the saltwater of the ocean. She moves forwards. Although obstacles may stand in her way, she will find her way around and continue on her course. For River, there is no going back, no fighting against the stream. River's song is a journey of surrender, flowing without resistance. It is about surrendering to the inevitable twists and turns of life.

Even though it may be tempting to simply give up when you encounter obstacles or when things get tough, you must keep moving forward. Going backwards and dwelling on the past will stunt your progress and prevent you from experiencing the present moment for what it truly is. Look towards the future while being aware that you cannot see around every bend; life is unexpected and doesn't always go to plan. Have faith that the direction you are going in is the right one but be flexible to change as new paths reveal themselves to you. Practise acceptance without resistance. You will find that life gets easier when you choose to go with the flow and loosen your grip on things you cannot control.
