With your costume on, it is time to get a feel for how your body moves in it. The Knight of Wands needs to be able to move freely and aggressively. There is no standing still for this Knight. They need to jump, run, twist and turn, all while carrying fire. This makes it even more important to do a double and triple check of the suit. The performer needs to trust that this costume will both protect and serve. They are the only act with real raging fire, after all. One does not want to have anything get caught, snagged or even stuck while they are moving through the flames. Good grief, what a disaster that would be! This is why the Knight of Wands needs to move and to practice before they even get on the stage. Nothing can be left to chance, and safety of self and others must be the number one priority.

What once felt comfortable, like a second skin, now feels tight and restrictive. This Knight doesn't always feel comfortable in their own skin. There are times when the energy and the noise are just too much, and it becomes hard to focus and ground. This can cause the mind to get into a bit of a flap. It is also one of the big problems with having lots of energy and no way of releasing it. When this happens, a spot of fresh air is required. Even though you are getting ready for the show, it will benefit you to take a moment and slip out of the theatre. Feel the crisp night air on your face, and allow yourself to take slow, deep breaths. A couple of minutes of relief will allow you to regroup, just enough to get your head back in the game and to be ready for your time upon the stage.
