Kittycorn tarot

The Kittycorn Tarot was first released in 2022 by Deckstiny, a Thai tarot creation company originally named Shuffle Tarot. It is a team collaboration: author Mate Horonumber, illustrators JUJIIR and Petpodpot Pettoonza, and artist Oomsin Phumphat. The deck contains 79 cards — 22 Major Arcana, 56 Minor Arcana, plus 1 special card — along with a booklet guidebook. It is available through Etsy (via the ShuffleTarot shop), Pinkoi, and international tarot retailers, shipped from Thailand. The deck is printed on 350 GSM matt-linen texture Japanese quality cardstock at standard tarot size (120 x 70mm).

Art Style & Visual Character

The deck features adorable "Kittycorn" characters — hybrid kitty-unicorn creatures with rainbow horns — rendered in soft pastel colors with a cute, cartoon style. The palette is gentle and dreamy: lavender, peach, mint, and baby blue dominate. Cards have simple white borders, plain white edging, and a peach Kittycorn symmetrical card back design with an informal titling font. The art is kawaii-influenced and playful, transforming traditional tarot scenes into an irresistibly charming cat-unicorn world. Despite the cuteness, each card faithfully recreates its RWS counterpart with recognizable poses, objects, and compositional elements.

Core Concept & Symbolism

The Kittycorn Tarot is a modern take on the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith system, with all familiar archetypes reimagined through the Kittycorn lens. The deck includes playful renamings: "The Hanged Man" becomes "Hanged Meow," adding whimsy while preserving the card's core meaning. The RWS structure and symbolism remain fully intact beneath the cute exterior — suit associations, numerical progressions, and court card hierarchies all follow traditional patterns. The extra special card adds a unique touch beyond the standard 78.

Reading Experience

Reviewer RachelSwirl describes it as "a super sweet, adorable deck ideal for readers of all ages and abilities" and notes that "the cards themselves are super smooth to shuffle and the overall readings seem to be accurate." The key community consensus is that the deck is non-intimidating: "Whilst some people find traditional Tarot decks a little unnerving, the Kittycorn Tarot is far too cute and far too friendly to ever be feared — thus this is an ideal deck for initial readings with those who may be nervous." The deck serves as an excellent gateway for tarot-curious people who might be put off by darker or more esoteric imagery. Cat lovers and kawaii aesthetic enthusiasts especially gravitate toward this deck.
