24 The Telepath

I am compassionate and will show others understanding and respect.

She sits serenely in the spaceship’s main viewport, her eyes closed. Radiating from her is an otherworldly quality. The vast emptiness of space stretches before her, yet to her, it isn’t empty. Her third eye is wide open, emitting an eerie, magical glow. To her, every being in the galaxy is an open book, every tiny alien creature, every puff of sentient mist. She can see their memories, feel their emotions and understand their thoughts.

Intuitive and nurturing, the Telepath always sees the best in others. She knows everything about us – our thoughts, memories, hardships and joys. She shows us nothing but compassion. The Telepath tells us that every situation has its nuances. We can be so quick to judge someone’s intentions negatively, when we know nothing about who they are or what their life’s journey has been. They could be going through all sorts of struggles and may just need a little kindness from you. Look for opportunities where you can show some extra empathy, especially in those times when you feel the most angry or judgemental. You may not have telepathic powers just yet, but you do have words - even asking if someone is okay can make a galaxy of difference!

Avoid making assumptions. Next time you feel anger or the desire for retribution, take a step back. Do you actually know whether this person intends to cause you harm? Will getting angry help? Be the bigger person (or alien) and let it go. Show others compassion and kindness without expecting anything in return, and you'll feel fulfilled in a magical, galactic kind of way.
